The restaurant opened its doors on Austin Street in 1980 as a popular eatery and right away it became a local favorite. From there, owner and executive chef Galik Amberson opened up four Manhattan restaurants, each of them a great success. But in 2007 he decided that it was time for My Kitchen to return home to Forest Hills, this time on Metropolitan Avenue. With a menu full of palate pleasing dishes, My Kitchen features a list of seasonal favorites, carefully planned and freshly prepared each day.
My Kitchen features an outdoor dining area with capacity of 100 people, which can be used in warmer weather, with the Cajun Grill being the main feature of the garden. Guests can enjoy delicious dishes such as barbecued shrimp, pork, steaks, chicken, vegetables and fruits. It's also the perfect space for an outdoor ceremony or a cocktail reception. Another addition is the new Banquet Hall, right next door to the restaurant. It can accommodate 70-100 people, and can be used along with the garden.
My Kitchen's party menu is a complete package, specially designed with your affair in mind. Your cocktail reception begins with an assortment of passed hors d'oeuvres, prepared on the premises by the skilled chef. Next, you and your guests will enjoy a European style buffet with dishes like Chicken Breast Dijon, Basmati Rice Pilaf and Hungarian Goulash. A custom occasion cake will be prepared at no extra charge. Additional menu enhancements include ice carvings, open bar, special floral arrangements and much more.
