What is known today as The Bruce Estate, called Woodlands was once an enchanting, two farm private property. In those olden days Long Island's Gold Coast was a place of tranquility and seclusion in New York. People preferred to have their own farm houses and country homes amidst lush green landscape. In line with the tradition, a prominent corporate attorney, Victor Morawetz, purchased a large 120 acres piece of land in Woodbury and built his own estate in 1918.
