Plainview is located in the highly sought after area of Oyster Bay in Nassau County of Long Island. Plainview has numerous community parks. Its primary park is the 19-acre Plainview-Old Bethpage Community Park, located on Washington Avenue. Opened in 1960, this park features an Olympic size pool, a children's pool, baseball/softball fields, tennis courts, racquetball/handball courts, basketball courts, a newly-built children's recreation playground, and trails through its woods. Plainview is also home to the Manetto Hills Park nature preserve, formerly known as the Shattuck Estate. While staying here, be sure to check out what is left of at least two former Gold Coast mansions. It has easy access to both the Long Island Expressway as well as the Northern State Parkway, making going to the beaches or other notable points of interest a breeze.
