East Hampton is a town located in Suffolk County, Long Island. It is the easternmost town in the state of New York. East Hampton's unique situation of being surrounded by water on three sides makes it one of the most beautiful towns in Long Island. It boasts eight beautiful state parks and many Nature Conservancy areas. East Hampton has been termed as the "Playground of the Rich" where seemingly anybody with major money in New York City has an estate in the town. In fact, two First Ladies spent their childhoods in the town and President Clinton spent his summer vacations there. East Hampton has also been termed as an artists' colony, serving as home to notable artists such as Jackson Pollock. War buffs would be ever-intrigued by this history-rich town that has ties to almost all of the nation's major wars.
