Watermill Caterers Reviews

Review: There are so many places you can get married around here. If anything, the challenge was that we had so many spots to choose from—many of them potentially great options—not too few. We originally started with more than a dozen spots on our list and managed to whittle it down to just five to visit in person. We came here first and never made it to the other four! We were blown away when we started talking to Tony. He was so excited to work with us and seemed like he had so much real enthusiasm that we were just sold on the idea right away. And when he showed us the ballroom and the cocktail lounge, we just loved both areas! One thing we liked about this place right from the moment we saw it is that it looks more or less like a house—a really, really nice house. It seems more charming than a lot of the huge venues we were looking at online that look more like hotels (many of them are hotels I guess). The materials in this building are much more appealing. And all the lighting is just very warm and makes you feel like you’re at home. The entrance to the building is beautiful, and they have this lovely grand piano in the foyer. The outdoor area has beautiful greenery and yes, a real watermill! The gardens are everywhere around the building, so you feel like you are in this secluded, private place whether you’re indoors or outdoors. There is lots of shade outside, which was great for the wedding ceremony. It was a lovely day, sunny and bright, but the shade kept things comfortable. The cocktail hour was amazing! So many of our guests told us it was the best cocktail hour they had ever been to, and a couple of our friends even told us that it was way better than what they had at their wedding, and that they wished they’d known about this place then. They have so many delicious hors de’ouevres. The pasta station is incredible, and they also had more types of cheese than I have ever seen in my life, and all of them were really fancy! There is a huge variety for the dinner entrees, with Asian food, Greek food, and a lot of other options, including some of the most exciting vegetarian options I have ever seen on a menu. Being the bride of course I felt like all I got was a few rushed bites, but every one of them was perfect! For the cake we had a number of different choices. We chose whipped cream instead of icing, which really made it tasty. They have lots of fillings too, including cannoli cream! It was so ridiculously tasty. The food was one of the highlights for me along with the gorgeous grounds and beautiful interior spaces, but there is a lot to love about Watermill. Our wedding package included everything you could dream of. Valet parking, invitations produced in-house (which were just gorgeous), wedding favors, an amazing bridal suite, and just so much more. Tony, like I mentioned earlier, was amazing! When he told us everything included with the package and then quoted us the price, I could hardly believe my ears. What an incredible deal this place is. It not only met, but far exceeded our expectations. If you want easy wedding planning where they are able to take care of everything for you, and some of the best food you will ever eat, and absolutely beautiful grounds, this is your place.

Review: We tied the knot here late 2013. Living on Long Island, we had a lot of venues to choose from; we were fortunate in that respect in some ways—choices are good—but it was also kind of overwhelming, and I wish we’d found this one right away. We spent days interviewing people at different venues before we spoke to Tony and checked out Watermill. Seriously, if this was the only venue in the area, it’d be all you could ask for. So many people were amazing working with us … Brian, Jessica, Tony of course … I wish I could remember every name. Even the attendants who were in charge of making sure everyone had something to eat and drink during the celebration were outstanding. Jessica, my bridal attendant, was out of this world. She not only helped us get ready, but even got us some privacy before the ceremony so we could get our heads together and get ready for the big moment. By the time the day was over, I felt like I’d known her for years and she was my very good friend. That’s how great our rapport was. One thing I can’t say enough about is the food. I am not even remotely exaggerating when I say that the food is the BEST FOOD YOU WILL EVER EAT. Our guests were just as floored by it as we were. I keep thinking we are going to have to come up with an excuse to come back for some other event just so we can enjoy the best catering on the planet again. The cocktail hour was just awesome. All in all a truly magical experience. It’s everything I always dreamed my wedding would be.
