At first I was unsure about this venue, mostly because it is so big and so well known. I thought that maybe they’d have other stuff going on the same day, but they assured us right away that wouldn’t be the case. I also wasn’t sure because we deal with different people the first few times, and it seemed like there were some staff changes going on. Eventually though we got to working with Nicky and Vera, who really knocked our socks off. Those two were amazing with everything, and totally understood the vision we had for our day. Cocktail hour I’d say was one of my favorite parts. The room was perfectly prepared—they got all the décor just right, and the food and drinks were perfect. They even were able to have some craft beers that we like, which I thought was very cool. We had special requests for the food, and the chef not only rose to the challenge, but did so with panache. Everything we asked for was prepared to perfection, like he’d been making all of it his entire life. We liked the main room for the most part, though I thought some of the décor looked a bit dated. Still, it was nice, clean, big, and well equipped with lighting equipment, projection screens, etc., which actually saved some money while we were planning, which I was grateful for. My husband and I both had a great time during the reception, and everyone in our party looked like they were having an amazing time too. I think with The Sands that the trick is to make sure you get working with the right people. It’s a big venue, like I mentioned, and they have a pretty large staff, and there are a lot of different people here who you will probably work with at one point or another while you’re getting it all set up. Try and get to know them, and when somebody gets what you are going for, make it known that you want to keep working closely with them, like we did with Nicky and Vera. I’ve heard some people complain before that it seemed like some people here were amazing while others were not, and I’d agree with that. But work with the amazing ones and you will have an amazing wedding that’s just like the one you’ve been imagining.
We were really intimidated by the prospect of planning our wedding celebration, but the staff here at the Sands made everything a breeze! We had a great time planning and an even better time celebrating!
We had a wonderful time planning our event here, and the event itself was a blast! Michael, the manager, was very helpful whenever we had questions, and was very quick to address our concerns along the way. The entire staff was great, actually, from top to bottom, and our event couldn’t have gone more smoothly! The venue itself has beautiful modern décor with a bit of a deco vibe. The location is gorgeous too. The perfect place for any party! Best of all, they only host one event at a time, so you don’t need to worry about noise and chaos from other events interfering with yours. It feels very private, very intimate, and the staff are there to give you 100% of their attention.
