When we were dating, one of our first trips together was to Long Island, and we wanted to go back to get married. We knew where we wanted to tie the knot immediately. We both had been thinking of it for a while as it turned out, so the moment my husband brought it up, I was all for it! We’d stopped by Laurel Lakes as one of our last activities before we went back home, and it was the highlight of the trip for both of us. It was midday and such a beautiful day too, and we stopped by for some tastings at the wine bar. We remembered how courteous the staff was and what a great menu there was. But mostly we recalled how beautiful it was, and how much we enjoyed wandering the grounds and exploring the vineyards and the gazebo. It was so relaxing, and we really missed it after we got home. So that was where we got married. They were very flexible with the arrangements, just as we figured they’d be, since it seemed like a pretty laid-back place the time we were there. They made some recommendations to us as far as catering, flowers, and so forth, but left it up to us entirely what we wanted to do. They didn’t care about the size of our party (which was good, since it wasn’t going to be a lot of people since we weren’t getting married at home), and the fee was also quite reasonable for the afternoon. The day of our wedding, the weather was every bit as gorgeous as it was when we first visited. It was so amazing being able to come back and enjoy this wonderful, romantic place where we’d spent that lovely afternoon together. We got married right in front of a lovely little pond, and our photographer walked around the grounds with us taking all kinda of wonderful photographs! We ate out on the patio at the long tables with our friends. Brightened up with the flowers and the linens, the tables looked really lovely! From there, you have a direct view overlooking the vineyards. There are also tables set out on the lawn with awnings over them to keep the sun off. The wines, just as we remembered, were outstanding. So we enjoyed yet another unforgettable afternoon in one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. The day had the same tranquil, relaxing atmosphere it did last time, and once again, everyone was extremely courteous and helpful. One of my bridesmaids fell in love with the place and told me she hopes that this is where she will get married someday! That would be really cool! Then we’d have yet another reason to make a trip back. Maybe we’ll have to make a regular thing out of it. That would be so romantic!
