Westbury Manor Reviews

Review: Westbury is one of the most famous venues in this area for weddings. I’ll admit that was exactly what brought us here. We weren’t interested in doing a huge amount of research to pick a venue, and we’d heard so many excellent things about Westbury it just seemed like we should go with it! They had enough space for our party (300+ attendees), and the setting is just splendid (Victorian mansion, gorgeous gardens). It only took a quick look out the car window when we arrived to know that this would be the place. We were floored when they quoted us the price too. It was very cost effective! I still can’t get over the garden here! The garden was in bloom when we were married, and there were more kinds of flowers than I know how to name. So many beautiful colors. There are peacocks, parrots, ducks, and also koi in the pond! After the sun sets, they light up the fountain in different colors. It’s very atmospheric! It made for beautiful pictures both before and after sunset. They gave us a huge amount of food during both the dinner and the cocktail hour. Some of our guests actually had so much to eat during the cocktail hour they were too full for dinner and had to take it home in a box! They gave us leftovers to take home too. Everything was prepared so well, and the chef had no problem cooking special dishes for those who needed them, including a celiac intolerant guest. There was an open bar and a wonderful drink selection. Desserts were good too. The cake was tasty, but it was actually the vanilla ice cream that I really loved. It was very rich in flavor and just blew me away. Our maitre’d was Philip and our bridal attendant was Evelyn, and both of them were there at every turn to ensure that we had everything we needed and were having a grand time. They couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. The whole staff was amazing, but those two are the ones that really made us feel like we were family or something! We actually miss having them around! The wedding day was gone in a flash, but the memories and the photos remain. We can’t stop showing the pictures to people who visit us and weren’t able to make it. I am really quite convinced that there is no more beautiful venue anywhere on Long Island for a garden wedding celebration. I think this is a pretty unique place with the peacocks and ducks and everything. If you decide to get married here, you will love it. You won’t go broke planning a wedding here, and you will get an amazing value for your money. It was far above and beyond anything we thought we could afford. The staff made planning easy, and literally nothing went wrong the whole time!

Review: This was one of the first ideas that we looked into because so many people recommended it when we announced our engagement. I think inside about a month, we’d already had half a dozen suggestions for Westbury. We were never there for anything before, but the way people talked about it, they made it wound truly wonderful. … And guess what, it is amazing! It’s this mansion in a Victorian style with this lovely scalloped roof—I always loved that look! There’s a beautiful fountain outside and these really lovely gardens with plenty of shade trees. It’s a very colorful place. There’s just so much greenery, and lovely landscaping with these pretty rocks and flowers. It’s easy to find a nice secluded spot—well, it was when we visited. During the party of course it wasn’t! But lots of pretty spots for pictures. There are even peacocks! Or a peacock. I’m not really sure. But there was definitely a peacock in the garden. We felt transported back in time to a more elegant era—a time when there was a slower pace of life and people really took the time to enjoy their special moments. Just visiting to plan our wedding was a special afternoon! The staff were wonderful, and added to that feeling that we’d stepped out of the ordinary and into a world where everything was designed to be perfect just for us. Jerry, Frank, Victoria, Ian … all of these people were wonderful, and each added their own special touch to the wedding plans. Gary was great too! I can’t leave out Gary. He did the flowers. He was remarkable! Our guests couldn’t get over how beautiful everything was: the ceremony, the gardens and the shade trees, the manor, even the presentation of the dinner. The dinner! How can I forget. They had tons of options available. We were actually a little overwhelmed at first, in a good way. We had a fun time at the tasting! We eventually managed to narrow it down to what we wanted, and the guests told us again and again that the food was amazing. So we chose well! I’m guessing though that we could literally have picked anything and everyone would have been happy. Oh, and they were great providing options for our allergic guests! The main thing I will remember about Westbury, aside from how beautiful it all was, was how nice everyone was to us. Even staff members we only met a couple of times remembered our names and followed up with us on earlier conversations, which we thought was fantastic. They made us feel as if we were VIPs and that everything they said and did mattered, because we mattered to them.
